Does a contract "really" matter???

Am I the only fan getting tired of OTHER fan saying, "He signed the contract, no one put a gun to his head"?? Because every year around this time there are numerous players cut by NFL teams. Players that was under contract. The difference here is that I DON'T here fans saying, "Why was he cut, he's STILL owed $3.5 mil on his contract". Hypocrisy dissturbs me.

It's okay for teams to cut players, but its not okay for players to want NEW deals. Now, if you want to tell me that owners and players should live up to the contract, then we can talk. If not, SHUT UP!!.

What I've come to understand about the NFL is that if you outplay your contract you deserve to renegotiate, but if you do not live up to the contract you will be getting your walking paper. I can live with that. I don't want to read another blog or column talking about, "he signed the contract", because it's idiotic. And I know that most of us aren't idiotic.

Arizona Cardinal fans needs to wake up. If you don't think Anquan Boldin has outplayed his contract ($2.9 mil. in 2009, Fitzgerald $10 mil. in 2009) you are nuts. Go ahead and say it, Fitzgerald is a better receiver. Is he really?? Have you looked at their numbers?? You may be surprised. Before Boldin's injury he was the #1 WR in football. Did you know that?? Before week 15 Fitzgerald played second fiddle to Boldin. Don't believe me? Go look it up. Boldin is not the only case, its just the obvious one.

So, when I ask the question, "Does a contract really matter". The answer is NO. So when we as fan start to question why he signed the contract, take a look at the sports section in mid-Feburary and ask yourself why was he cut. Because he was STILL under contract, the one that he "signed" remember??
